The first edition of Homewards The Quiz

Join us on an adventure where settling into the Eindhoven region becomes an exciting chapter rather than a daunting task. We're creating a social onboarding program for newcomers in partnership with various partners.

On Sunday, November 19, at The Social Hub, Homewards launched its first event. Through Homewards The Quiz, participants explored the city and connected with fellow newcomers and locals.

Dutch and international newcomers

Newcomers from both Dutch and international backgrounds came together for Homewards The Quiz to explore their sense of home in Eindhoven. This wasn't your typical quiz—it was a fun, engaging experience aimed at acquainting everyone with the city and its diverse inhabitants.

Establishing connections takes time, which is why the event spanned an entire Sunday afternoon, designed with diverse quiz segments. Kicking off shortly after noon, we began with an inclusive "get to know your team" session. Teams then embarked on city-wide challenges and inquiries. For instance, there was a music-themed round at CD Teek and a photography task at the Van Abbemuseum. Teams engaged with locals, unearthed intriguing tidbits about Eindhoven's history, and explored new city spots within just a few hours, fostering deeper connections among participants.

Earning points

Throughout the quiz, points were allocated to each task, some carrying more weight than others. A standout challenge involved already scheduling your team reunion, serving as a significant points opportunity. As the day concluded, participants submitted their evidence to the jury, who subsequently announced the winners of the first Homewards The Quiz. The winning team is set to relish a genuine 'local experience' at PSV, offering them another chance to reunite.

In 2024, we're set to enhance Homewards by launching an online platform and curating a wider array of events. Stay tuned for event dates and details by following @eindhovencity for updates!
