Deutschland was gibt? How Eindhoven365 focused on the German market this spring
Besides visitors from the Netherlands, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, we're working hard to introduce more German visitors to Eindhoven. The number of German visitors to the Netherlands is also expected to keep growing in the coming years. Germany is proving to be an important market. Not just because of our good accessibility, wide range of restaurants, shops, and nature – but also because Germany shares that same welcoming, innovative, and green character we're proud of in Eindhoven. With our own This is Eindhoven's City Trip campaign and our partnership with NBTC and Deutsche Bahn, we're strengthening our efforts in the German market and positioning Eindhoven as a standout city-trip destination.
Deutsche Bahn and NBTC
To encourage visitors to travel to Eindhoven sustainably, we've partnered with NBTC and Deutsche Bahn for several years now. Together with Rotterdam Partners, The Hague & Partners, Utrecht & Partners, and Almere City Marketing, we're putting the Netherlands on the map as an attractive, well-connected destination. From April through June, Eindhoven wasn't just visible online, but also through an outdoor poster campaign in the streets of Cologne. This is Eindhoven's City Trip goes NRWF
We also launched our own 'This is Eindhoven's City Trip' campaign in Germany, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Through this campaign, we encourage visitors to make the most of their city trip, for example, by adding a stopover in a city along the way. We give them tips and inspiration to get the most out of their trip: our future-proof answer to the growing demand for more mindful travel. For this campaign, we used a media mix of digital out-of-home advertising, social media ads on both our own and external channels, as well as Google Ads and display banner campaigns. Potential visitors land on thisiseindhoven.com (Der ultimative Trip nach Eindhoven), and several German content creators visited Eindhoven and made content for Instagram and TikTok.
German translations on our website
Our new website also automatically translates every webpage into German. That's a large expansion of German translations on thisiseindhoven.com. This way, all our Eindhoven inspiration is easy to find for German visitors too, making it easier for them to discover and plan their visit to the city.
