With our @Eindhovencity social media accounts, we try to inspire people online to visit This is Eindhoven and, of course, Eindhoven. Besides Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Youtube, Eindhoven is now one of the first cities in the world to be present at the social hype of this moment, namely TikTok!
800 million users worldwide
TikTok is a free app that allows users to create and post short, creative videos. Music, dance, playback, and hashtags play an important role. Videos from 15 to 160 seconds can easily be edited using filters and effects. Worldwide, TikTok has about 800 million users. In the Netherlands, it has 3.5 million users.
Young Eindhoven fans
The purpose of the account is to show Eindhoven in a humorous way, for example, by developing challenges and so-called How-To videos. The social medium is particularly popular among a younger target group. Being present on this channel gives us new insights and allows us to respond to the creations of young Eindhoven fans. The first videos are now live, and we are working on new content behind the scenes.
