Eindhoven is one of the most livable cities in Europe. That is the outcome of the Location Ratings Report, published by ECA International. It is the third ranking this year in which Eindhoven is named one of the most livable cities in Europe and even in the world.

Sixth to fifth place

Global Mobility Expert ECA International published the Location Ratings Report last week. This report ranks European cities on liveability for European ex-pats, taking various factors into account: housing, leisure, infrastructure, climate, safety, political tensions, and air quality. Eindhoven climbs from sixth to fifth place, with only Geneva, The Hague, Bern, and Copenhagen ranked as "more liveable".

The Forecast

Numbeo

A similar, ongoing ranking is done by Numbeo, the world's largest database of cities and countries worldwide. In its Quality of Life index, Eindhoven is ranked second. Zurich leads that list.

Small cities

In January, Eindhoven was included in the Small Packages ranking of Monocle's The Forecast, a list of the world's twenty most livable small cities. The Forecast mentions the benefits of living in a relatively small city, such as living space, social cohesion and the balance between tranquillity and vibrant cultural agenda.
